Samantha+Connor: Springfield, IL Sunrise Engagement Photography
We met early as the sun was coming up. The sky was beginning to show its colors and nature was singing its songs. The setting was beautiful as we walked around the lake and got to know each other during their engagement session.
They both played sports at Lincoln Land and met through mutual friends/roommates and spent the majority of their college days together. They both knew together they wanted to be together forever and she thought she had a good idea of when the proposal would fall on the timeline of their story. He was able to surprise her and proposed earlier than she expected.
She loves art and had really been wanting a “Bob Ross” day. He called upon his sister to help him plan such a day. They both worked on their own paintings and when he turned his around to reveal it to her, she was surprised to see his proposal painted on the canvas!
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful morning or setting. I’m so looking forward to capturing their wedding celebration next year.
Here’s to many more beautiful sunrises together!

Kaitlyn+Peter|Engagement|Springfield, IL
This IT guy knew the way to his librarian’s heart by incorporating their shared love for Harry Potter in his proposal. Not only did he have custom wands made, but he also designed her a custom ring. Kaitlyn’s father passed away a couple years ago, so Peter used the stones from her dad’s ring to create hers. I absolutely love the thoughtfulness and meaning behind her ring and I loved watching these two interact even more. Peter put Kaitlyn at ease and made her laugh all throughout their session. I can’t wait to photograph all the smiles and laughter on their wedding day this coming fall.
And because…Harry Potter.

Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens Engagement Session: Adam + Brittany
Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens is the perfect location for an engagement session. I had never been there before, so I was so excited when Brittany told me they were reserving the grounds for their engagement session. There are so many different gardens and one just led right into another. I had so much fun walking and talking with Adam and Brittany, learning a little more about them as a couple. Beautiful day, beautiful setting and such a beautiful couple.
Western Reserve Engagement: Brad+Danielle
They made eye contact freshman year of college and he turned to his friend and told him he was going to marry her. They became best friends early on, but she was not interested in a relationship. It wasn’t until the end of college when she realized that if he were to marry someone else, she would no longer be able to be his best friend. And that was all it took. These two are ridiculously cute together. I loved listening to their story and how she got to fall in love with his heart first and how he dated others, but was pretty much just waiting on her. They exude happiness. I’ve only met them once, but I can’t imagine these two not being together and I can’t wait for their wedding day this December. It is sure to be filled with a thousand more smiles just like the ones you will see below.
A Burton Ohio Engagement: Kayla+Tim
I loved the small town feel, wide open fields and simplicity of Burton. Since these two have grown up in Burton and went to the same school their parents went to, it was the obvious location for their engagement session. We spent most of our time at Century Village Museum and if you are ever in the area, you should check it out! I’m certainly looking forward to being back in the area at the beginning of June for their wedding:)
Cuyahoga Valley National Park Engagement: Nicole and Kyle
I love nothing more than when I can capture two people just being themselves together. When you are having fun with the one you love, it does not matter that its freezing outside. Kyle and Nicole, it was a blast to photograph you two together and I can’t wait to do it again on your wedding day.
Stay warm!

Boston Mills Engagement Session: Megan+Jared
We went to the place where he proposed and had fun exploring and getting a in a few dance lessons;) For their save the date cards, we incorporated their shared sport of golf and now we were going to capture their shared love of skiing (as much as we could in October) as well. I’m a big fan of how these two tried to incorporate things that are important to them in their pictures. And now that I know it is illegal (and highly dangerous) to take pictures on train tracks, the few pictures below will be the last pictures you will see from me with people actually on them. Thanks for being such a fun couple to capture, Megan and Jared!
Cuyahoga Valley National Park Engagement: Alex+Mandi
I have really been enjoying getting to know Alex and Mandi as a couple. They are so down-to-earth and easy to be around. I think their engagement session took place on the last hot, sticky night in Ohio. Nearly a thousand mosquitos had their way with us that night, but that didn’t keep this couple (or their pup) from enjoying their time together in front of the camera:) I can’t wait for their October wedding!
